Tornado Info, Cleanup and Recovery

Thank you to everyone who stopped by one of the participating restaurants for "Restaurants for Relief". Just over $21,000 was raised with 100% of the cash going to the Red Cross to help area Tornado victims.



Donations are being accepted at all Huntington Bank, Fifth Third Bank and Genoa Bank locations. 

Genoa Bank Millbury Branch is located at 24950 West State Route 51.


WOOD COUNTY:

Genoa Bank has established a fund to help tornado victims. You can donate cash or check (payable to American Red Cross with "Tornado Disaster Relief” or "for the Ted Kranz family" in the memo line). Genoa branches are in Crossroads (Rossford), Elmore, Maumee, Millbury, Oregon and in Genoa.  You may also mail checks to GENOA BANK, P.O. Box 98, Genoa, Ohio, 43430.

The United Way is asking that bottled water, canned food and boxed food be taken to Mainstreet Church at 705 N Main Street in Walbridge.
Owens Community College is accepting supplies; drop-off points will be set up across the Perrysburg and Findlay campuses through June 28th.  Items needed include: bottled water, anti-bacterial wipes, baby wipes/supplies, cleaning supplies, plastic cups/utensils, laundry baskets, sunblock and bug spray.  Call 800-GO-OWENS (466-9367) for more info.

FULTON COUNTY:

The United Way of Fulton County stressed that cash donations are needed more than food or bottled water. Monetary donations can be made to any Fulton County branch of the Farmer's and Merchant's State Bank in the name of the United Way Disaster Relief Fund.

Town Center Joins Bucket Brigade for Tornado Victims

WHAT:
The Town Center at Levis Commons is participating in the ISOH/IMPACT Bucket Brigade by collecting donations for the recent tornado disaster.

The Bucket Brigade is an exciting new program through ISOH/IMPACT which will ensure that when disaster strikes in Northwest Ohio, across the country, or around the globe, necessary lifesaving food and relief supplies are available. All donations dropped at The Town Center location will benefit northwest Ohio tornado disaster victims.

See below for Bucket Brigade supplies needed.

June 7, 2010 - GenoaBank has established a fund to accept donations to help the victims of this weekend’s storm. Cash donations and checks will be accepted at all six locations of the bank and should be made payable to the American Red Cross with “Tornado Disaster Relief” in the memo line. Cash donations will be accepted as well. Genoa has branches in Crossroads, Elmore, Maumee, Millbury, Oregon and its main office is located in Genoa. GenoaBank will forward all cash deposits made at its branches to the Red Cross to benefit the storm victims of June 2010.

TORNADO INFO, CLEANUP & RECOVERY

Dundee, Michigan

There was a tornado confirmed in Dundee area. Damage is not said to be extensive.

Cabella's was damaged as was the Fermi power plant, which shut down.

Millbury

A Red Cross client assistance center will be open from 3:30-8 PM today at St. Peter United Church of Christ in Millbury, OH (28505 Main St.). Those needing assistance for damaged or destroyed homes are encouraged to visit the center for help. The center will also be open tomorrow (June 7) from 9 AM-12 noon.

Lake Township

For now, contact Northwood Police at 419-691-5053 for all police and fire calls for Lake Township, Village of Walbridge and City of Rossford.

Lake Township Police Chief Mark Hummer says three people are confirmed dead in Lake Township. He was up in a helicopter -- says the tornado's path was 7-miles long, 100 yards wide. It moved northeast across the township, destroying 50 homes and damaging 50.

Fulton County

The Fulton County sheriff is requesting that people stay off the roads south of Cty Rd. E and east of 109 be restricted to residents only so crews can clean up the area.

The Red Cross shelter is open to those who lost their homes.

The Red Cross Shelter at Delta Memorial Hall will close at 6 a.m. It will open again from 1–4 p.m. to meet with families who need assistance as a result of the storm. Anyone needing to speak with someone before 1 p.m., please call 419-822-6384.

Individuals or groups wanting to assist with cleanup will need to register at the Volunteer Reception Center which will be open at the Fulton County Senior Center on Monday, 6/7/10, at 9:30 a.m.
