It's starting to look like the Cleveland Indians are done with Chief Wahoo. They're just not making a big deal out of it.
Chris Creamer of SportsLogos.net did a writeup showing just how... hard to find Wahoo suddenly is on anything officially coming out of the team. He's hard to find on the website, on the Twitter feed, on big collections of MLB logos... you'll see the Block C, and you'll see the wordmark, but not Wahoo.
Now, the team, nor the league has made any sort of official announcement. In fact, they've typically denied any plans to get rid of him. But if they are doing it, I'm glad that they're doing it quietly. There's literally no upside in drawing attention to it. The people who want it gone aren't going to praise you for doing it, because a) They'll say that it should have been a long time ago, and b) They'll rip the organization for not changing the name alongside. And the people who cling to these logos oh so desperately for absolutely no reason will rant and shout and scream like a child who just had his favorite toy taken away.
There's nothing wrong with getting rid of the logo. It's just a picture. And there's also nothing wrong with just letting it fade away.
