Michael Jordan at 50, in jeans, dunking.
An insightful roundtable from SI about ESPN's college football 'studio' programming.
A lot of radio people - uhhh, me at times included (granted, my voice is much much smaller than most) - shout what seems like absurd statements. But when it comes to PED accusations vs. libel, does Pujols REALLY want to sue Jack Clark? Jhonny Peralta was vehement he took nothing when the Biogenesis stuff broke months ago, now he's been suspended.
Pujols can take a public PED test now - which may help turn public opinion, that there are clean players in the game - or line up credible witness, after witness to prove his innocence when it comes to PED use at some point in his career.
Pujols has bullets aimed at him in both directions. One, his astonishing numbers were put up in prime PED years, and two, where did many of those Biogenesis players come from that were suspended? Where Pujols is from, the DR.
Do I say Pujols is and always has been clean. Ummm, yes, but this isn't a bet right?
I didn't hear the Clark audio, but the columns written on his words make him seem bitter and reckless, but without hearing the audio, I can't say for sure. And coming from the industry, let me tell you, corporations are more frightened than ever of lawsuits, so they'll fire an employee before backing him in court over something he/she said. A cost benefit analysis was done before his firing, and you see the results of that assessment.
At this very moment, Cruz and Peralta not being welcomed back for the postseason makes sense. I said a week ago I thought Peralta SHOULD play in October, but won't, due to the Tigers not wanting to foster a PED friendly image, even though Peralta has paid his penalty.
I eventually got myself a left hand to take layups, but I could never totally switch hands like Tristan Thompson is doing.
Stop, no, no, Kickalicious is not going to beat David Akers out in succeeding Jason Hanson. If this guy was booming 50+ kicks like they were extra points, then MAYBE, but practice squad material or a break glass in case of is what he's destined to be.
Quick, quick, Lions thoughts.
Hmmmm, no Bush & Leshoure at the same time. No, I don't think Scott Linehan is very inventive anyway, but hopefully that potentially explosive duo is being held back for September.
I'm probably never going to stop worrying about the back seven. More bodies, and more competition hasn't meant more productivity. No Jets QB had a rating below 94. I know, it's preseason, but that Jets team may not manage two scores a game in 2013 because of their lack of playmakers. Didn't Cromartie say he was their best offensive threat? Even at corner, he may be right!
Maybe Matthew Willis will be fourth receiver, not Patrick Edwards. The guy did play 31 games the last two years for Denver.
I got burned last year when I said the Lions line could be as formative and ferocious as what the Giants have shown us annually. I'll run the risk of that statement again in 2013. The line is probably the only thing keep the back seven from being abused for 16 games.
I believe it's only a fourth or a fifth round pick this year, but the Mike Thomas trade has been a calamity from begin, to whenever the end occurs. And to think, Kreger and I thought the Lions brought him on board to experiment with Thomas in a Harvin, Cobb type of a role.
