Yeah, the weekend was a little too busy to update. Sorry about that, especially since I didn't get the update in on the hockey EPIC PRELIMINARY WIN over Russia. Good news is that we could see a rematch in the Gold Medal game.
Two medals for the US today, and we'll start with the figure skaters: a big congratulations for Charlie White and Meryl Davis, coming away with Gold in the Ice Dancing event. They won both the Short Program and the Free Dance, putting all kinds of space between them and the Canadian and Russian teams. And in better news, there's only 1 figure skating event left: the ladies start on the 19th and finish on the 20th.
Also winning for the Americans was Steven Holcomb and Steven Langton in the 2-man Bobsled: they took the bronze, just behind the Russiand and Swiss.
The Americans now have 18 total medals, tied with host Russia for the most medals (but the Germans still lead the way in Golds with 7).
The US Women had no issues with Sweden, winnign 6-1. They will rematch with the Canadians in the Gold Medal game: the Leafs beat Switzerland 3-1.
We're not talking about curling anymore.
