It always weirds me out how many people watch coverage of the NFL Combine.
I mean, I like football, but I don't get the notion that I need to know every little thing about every incoming guy, down to his 40 time, how high he can jump, or the size of his hands.
But even if you are that kind of fan... watching the Combine is boring! So, so boring. It is not a made-for-TV event. For every Dri Archer 4.26 dash (or every Louis Nix fall-down-go-boom), there's large swaths of just straight downtime. And there's not a whole lot to make it exciting. Last I checked, Rich Eisen only does his bit once a year.
Give NFL Network credit, they do what they can. Superimposing the runs of other players on top of each other is a neat trick. But at some point, you have to realize you're watching other people work out. Probably could be working out yourself. Lord knows I could use it.
